On Saturday, John and I went to the "Streets Open Mississauga" celebration. It was a fun day of finding out more about the history of how Mississauga was founded back in the early 1800's. People were dressed in clothing from that time period.
John and I went on a 50 minute walking tour getting first hand accounts of the first homes built in the area. It was so amazing to see how long some of the houses had been there and by just mearly driving by you would have had no clue there was so much history behind them.
After the tour we visited the cemetery where "spirits" were there talking about their life in Mississauga. It was such a fun day!
I left knowing that Mississauga is named after the Natives, Mississaugas. I also found out something else interesting in Canada. In America we call the "natives" American Indians. But they are not Americans, and we have Indians from India in Canada. So the "Canadian Indians" are called Natives. Nice to know these things so I can be politically correct!
As John and I were watching TV tonight, we heard a crash, bang, boom. I thought something had fallen in our condo. We did not think much of it until John looked out on the balcony and noticed a phone and soda can. The people above us had somehow managed to drop their phone through the balconies. John yelled up and asked if they wanted their phone back.
They were quite surprised that the phone made the journey in one piece. I think the whole thing was rather funny. :) But the good in this whole thing is that we got to see what our noisy neighbor looked like. Nothing like what we expected. Which is always the case when you guess what someone looks like.
