I have begun this quest to see every movie that Bette Davis has made. From the wonderful influence of my mom, I have developed a love for classic movies. Bette Davis is my all time favorite.
If you have not seen anything that Bette Davis has been in, I recommend the following movies:Now, Voyager.
Stolen Life
Catered Affair
All About Eve
Dark Victory
There are so many more, but start with these. I promise you will not be disappointed.
Today I decided it would be a good day to organize my DVD's. The other day I was trying to find a movie and I could not find it, so I decided I needed to sort them by category, ie Horror, Drama, Action, etc.
I took them all and set them on my dining room table, dusted them and then began the sorting process. With John's movies and mine combined I could not believe just how many we had. My next goal is to count them. John and I are
looking for a new TV so I thought it would be a great time to get a cabinet that would fit all of our DVD's as well. So I need to have an accurate count before we get something. I am thinking I have at least 100, I will let you know when the final count is tallied. Not too long ago, if someone would have asked me if I wanted to watch an classic movie I would have thought they were crazy. Sure I loved classics like, It's a Wonderful Life, Sound of Music, movies like that. But I thought that only present day movies were really worth my time.
Now in 2007 most movies that have come out in the last few years have all been remakes of movies from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. After watching so many classic movies with my Mom in addition to getting all the movies I could get my hands on at the library, I have decided that Classic Movies are much better than present day movies.
Take for instance House of Wax.
Vincent Price did an excellent job in the orginial, it scared me, I loved it. The new one from last year had Paris Hilton and nude girls running around all over the place. What happened to the suspense? It has been replaced with nudity and bad langauge. So I urge you, the next time you want to go and rent a movie, get a classic. You will not be sorry!!
