So finally after a year of waiting my immigration process is almost over. On September 5th at 8:15AM EST, I have my landing interview. John and I go to court, answer a few questions, and then I am granted permanent residence! That basically means, that I can work and come and go into and out of the country without getting the third degree. In 3 years I can become a citizen if I choose.
It is time to celebrate!
On Saturday John and I drove down to New York State so we could flip around and come back over the border and renew my visitor visa. Since I am still going through the process of immigration, I need to renew my visa every 6 months. Can you believe that is has almost been 6 months?
The traffic into New York was awful. I took a couple pictures as we were waiting.
On our way back, I was amazed at the sight I saw, I had John take a picture.
Since I have moved to Canada, I have been fascinated by the Smart Car. They are new to Canada and they are more like a car you would see in downtown London instead of Toronto.
For Canada Day, John and I visited the Mississauga celebration and got to talk to someone about the cars and sit in one. To my surprise they get about 67 mpg, and have this tiny little engine in the trunk. I loved them, I was amazed just how roomy they are. So I told John we need to get one. But they start at around $20,000 CAD, so I think that might be a little much for a fun car. But honestly have you ever seen such a cute car??
